POCATELLO, Idaho- The Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships concluded today, as ISU athletes looked to add to the team's point total and come away with podium finishes.

Men's Highlights
Alex Conner led off the scoring for the Bengals, as he dominated the faster of the two final heats, finishing 2nd overall and running 6.68s to break the overall school record.Â
After a quick turnaround, Alex, Jacob Webster, and Khutsisa Rampete all scored for ISU in the 200m, as Alex came agonizingly close to a conference title, finishing in 2nd and running a new #2 all-time performance of 21.10. Jacob finished 5th in 21.23, which is now #3 all-time, while Rampete came right behind in 6th to round out the sprint scoring (21.41)Â
Jacob and Khutsisa weren't done though, as the 4x400m squad of the two and Dalton Rasmussen and Braxton Hurst crushed the second heat, and came out with a bronze medal finish, as well as tying for #9 all-time in ISU history (3:12.59).
In the field the men also showcased impressive performances, with Kaiden Lee clearing 2.04m in the high jump and earning a tie-7th place finish.Â
The shot put was also represented well by the Bengals, as sixth-throw phenom Axel Tirado-Sanchez once again threw himself onto the podium on his last attempt, with a throw of 17.65m, moving him to #5 all-time in school history. Chris Lupkes also threw well, throwing a meter PR in 17.05 and moving himself to #10 all-time and finishing 5th at the championship.
The Men's team finished 5th overall at the conference championship with 65.5 points, up from 9th place at the same meet the year prior.Â

Women's Highlights

Brielle Ricks started off the scoring on the women's side, with a runner-up finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.13m and earning 8 points for the Bengals.Â
The field continued scoring for the Bengals, as Natalia Alvarez Trujilo squared up against fierce competition in the triple jump and came away with a jump of 12.10m to secure 7th place.
Finishing up the meet strong, the women's 4x400m, consisting of Morgan Graham, Oaklie Hebdon, Ysanne Peart and Christina NGandu Ye, crushed their season's best with a throwdown of 3:48.78 to place 7th and go up to #4 on the all-time list.
The Women's team finished 9th overall at the conference championship with 31.5 points and showed resilience over the indoor season.

The Bengals' indoor season finished today with impressive results for both men's and women's teams, with seven silver medals and one bronze. The teams will take a well-deserved rest and be back in action on the 28th of March at Utah Valley. The ISU Track and Field team thanks all supporters for their hard work and volunteering to host another wonderful indoor season and looking forward to more in future.
