POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State track and field wrapped up a strong meet weekend at the Washington State Invite/Open at The Podium.
"The podium is a new indoor track facility and it was a great to see the new arena," said Director of Track and Field Hillary Merkley. "It's likely the home of our conference championships next indoor season. Collin Dylla and Destinee Rose Haas Competed in the invite sections and had great performances again.  Kylee Dimick took second in the Womens high jump and Zach Ramos had another outstanding meet in the shot put. Molly Olsen had a great meet in the mile and came back strong in the 3000.  All around we improved some marks and performance and we we have one more meet at home next week then we are off to indoor championships."
Collin Dylla had a first-place photo finish in the men's 800m. The Idaho State graduate runner set a new facility record of 1:50.49 as he edged out his competition from Lewis and Clark State by four one-hundredths of a second for the victory.
In the distance events, the Idaho State women came out on fire.
Molly Olsen competed picked up two podium finishes. In the mile, Olsen beat a field of 45 other runners to win the event with a time of 5:00.78. Olsen then came back and finished 3rd in the 3,000 Â with a time of 9:54.24.
The Bengals rewrote the record book in the women's 5,000m. Katie Weedn ran the fourth-fastest time in ISU history, finishing the race in 17:20.37. Bengal freshman Cassandra Vasquez followed across the line next with a time of 17:32.90 the sixth best time in ISU T&F history.
The Bengal high jumpers picked up a trio of podium finishes.
On the women's side, Kylee Dimick finished second in the event with a PR jump of 1.72m (5' 6.75"). Kapri Sylvester finished 3rd with a jump of 1.69m (5' 6.5").
In the men's high jump, Owen Mitchell finished 3rd with a jump of 2.00m (6' 6.75").
Zack Ramos picked up a 2nd place finish in the shot put, throwing a mark of 16.75m (54' 11.5").
The Bengal women's 4x400 team of Martin, Presley Timmons, Payton Durocher and Ashley Sturgis finished 2nd, running the relay in 3:58.45.
