POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's golf team had an opening round score of 308 in the Big Sky Conference Championships at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

"We had a decent showing today," Idaho State coach Dallen Atkins said. "We had a few bad breaks from a few girls that cost some strokes. We could have easily been sub 300. But we walk away from today's round with a lot of positives going into tomorrow. A lot of golf left and a lot of opportunities to go even lower. The golf course is playing fair and the girls are hitting it well. I think we will bounce back better and go even lower tomorrow."

The Bengals are currently in seventh place after shooting the 308. The Bengals are four stokes out of sixth place with Montana State 16 over par.

Each Bengal shot in the 70's in the opening round.

Alexis Wilson led the Bengals with a 75 while Tyler Erickson finished with a 77. Tya Seth shot a 78, Lindsey Lloyd 78 and Ainsley Snyder.
