Championship Results
POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State women's golf made history Thursday at the 2026 Big Sky Conference Championship, posting a 290 team total in the opening round at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz., the best single-round score in program history. The Bengals sit fifth in the team standings at 6-over after 18 holes, six shots behind first-place Northern Arizona, with Andrea Chin and Izzy Hassebrock both inside the top 12 individually.
Chin was the engine of the historic effort. Her 2-under 69 tied for the second-lowest individual round ever recorded at Idaho State and placed her in a four-way tie for fourth in the individual standings, two shots off the pace set by Sacramento State's Sophia Lee, who leads the field at 4-under. Chin birdied the opening hole and added another on hole 6 before making the turn at 37. The back nine was where she separated herself, birdieing holes 11, 15, 17 and 18 to close with a back-nine 32, the strongest inward half posted by any Bengal on the day.
Hassebrock provided the round's most memorable moment, opening with an eagle on the first hole, a 511-yard par 5, then adding a birdie on hole 2 to reach 3-under through two holes. She navigated some mid-round turbulence with bogeys on holes 4, 6, 11 and 12, but steadied herself down the stretch and birdied 18 to sign for an even-par 71. Hassebrock is tied for 10th individually, alongside three other players at even par.
Kaylie Parola contributed a 2-over 73 and sits tied for 18th in the individual standings. She logged four birdies, on holes 9, 11, 14 and 18, posting a back-nine 34, but four bogeys on the front nine left her at 39 through the turn.
Lauren Aasand finished at 6-over 77, tied for 36th individually. She closed with a birdie on 18 but was hampered by seven bogeys, four of which came on the back nine.
Avery Bayer carded a 13-over 84, placing 50th in the individual standings. A triple bogey on hole 7 and three doubles proved too costly to overcome, though Bayer recorded 10 pars and will look to bounce back in Round 2.
