Bengals Wrap Up 2026 Season at Big Sky Championships

Idaho State women's golf closed out the 2026 Big Sky Conference Championship with an eighth-place team finish at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz., posting a 54-hole total of 904. While the final standing was not what the Bengals were chasing, the week produced genuine program milestones and a roster that returns intact heading into next season.

"While the tournament did not end the way we wanted, there were a lot of positives this year in Arizona at the conference championship," head coach Todd Loveland said. "The team broke the all-time scoring mark for 18 holes, shooting 290 in the first round. Overall the team bettered their score from last year by 19 shots. Looking forward, as we are not graduating any senior players, I believe the future looks bright for our team."

Idaho State's opening round of 290 set a new program record for best single-round team score and stood as the Bengals' best golf of the week. The round was anchored by Andrea Chin's 2-under 69, which tied for second all-time in individual single-round scoring at Idaho State, and by Izzy Hassebrock's even-par 71, which included an eagle on the opening hole, a 511-yard par 5, to begin the tournament. Rounds two and three proved more difficult, as Idaho State shot 304 and 310 respectively, with the team unable to recapture the form of that opening day.

Hassebrock finished as the team's low scorer for the tournament, posting a 223 total (+10) across rounds of 71-75-77 to place tied for 22nd individually in the conference. Her first round remained the high point, the eagle on hole 1 set a tone for what became a historic day for the program, but she was competitive throughout, adding birdies in each of the three rounds and finishing as one of the more consistent performers in the Idaho State lineup all week.

Chin finished one shot back at 224 (+11), tied for 25th, on rounds of 69-76-79. Her opening 69 was the defining individual performance of the week for Idaho State, and her six birdies in Round 1 alone spoke to how well she was striking the ball on Thursday. Rounds two and three were more of a grind, as four doubles in the final round proved costly, but Chin's week was defined by the record-tying opener.

Lauren Aasand posted a 232 total (+19) to finish tied for 37th on rounds of 77-77-78. She was one of the more consistent players in the lineup round to round, with her three scores within a shot of each other across the tournament. Aasand's best stretch came in Round 2, where she added two birdies. She closed each of the three rounds with at least one birdie.

very Bayer and Kaylie Parola finished tied for 43rd at 236 (+23). Bayer's week told a story of improvement, after a difficult opening round of 84 (+13) that included a triple bogey and three doubles, she rebounded with back-to-back 76s (+5) to close the tournament, her most consistent stretch of golf all week. Parola opened the tournament with a 73 (+2) that featured four birdies and a back-nine 34
