Bengals Wrap up Impressive 2022 Big Sky Conference Championship

POCATELLO, Idaho - On the last day of the Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships the Bengals continued to break records, earn new PR's, and win individual Championships. TheĀ 

Men's team finished fourth while the women finished seventh.

Two Bengals earned first place marks in today's competition. Owen Mitchell placed first in the high jump with a personal best of 2.11m (6-11.0).Ā 

Zack Ramos placed first in the discus, throwing a personal best of 55.32m (181-06). Joining Ramos on the podium in the event was freshman Axel Tirado-Sanchez. He placed second with a mark of 54.86m (180-00).

Zachary Cox finished second in the 110m hurdles. Cox is now tied for No.2 on the ISU all time leader board with a personal best time of 13:84 seconds.

Kyndal Martin competed in the 100m and the 400m hurdles. In the 100m hurdles she finished with a time of 13:77 seconds, a personal best moving her up on the ISU all time leader board to tie the all-time Idaho State record. In a close race, Martin ran a time of 1:00.10 which isĀ  No.3 time on the ISU leaderboard in the 400m hurdles.Ā 

Today's events included new PR's from Eliotte Stockham and Brianna Hagler in field events. In the pole vault, Stockham vaulted to a PR of 3.83M. In the javelin, Hagler finished with a mark of 41.40.Ā 

After winning the heptathlon with the No. 3 mark in the ISU record book and the 10th best mark in Big Sky History, Hagler was awarded the 2022 Big Sky Conference Outstanding Player award.Ā 

Men's Final Team Results

The Idaho State men improved to a fourth-place finish with 83 points this season after finishing the 2021 season eighth.
