Pocatello, Idaho - The Idaho State Track and Field team qualified five student-athletes in six events to compete at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West Preliminary Rounds at the University of Arkansas, May 25-29. The meet will air on the SEC Network + and live results will be provided.
Five Bengals are representing Idaho State at the Regional meet.
rom the men's team, Zack Ramos qualified for both the shot put and the Discus with throws of 17.73m (58' 2") and 55.32m (181' 6"). Bengal freshman thrower Axel Tirado-Sanchez also qualified in the discus competition and heads to Arkansas with a mark of 56.54m (185' 6").
Treyshon Malone qualified in the long jump and is currently ranked seventh in the NCAA for this event with a jump of 8.02m (26' 3.75"). That mark ranks Malone third in the west headed into the competition.
Owen Mitchell qualified for the high jump this past weekend after winning the Big Sky Championship in the event with a season's best mark of 2.11m (6' 11").
On the women's side freshman Kylee Dimick, will be representing the Bengals in the high jump. Dimick qualified for the competition jumping 1.75m (5' 8.75) at the Adams-Klein Combined events.
The men begin competition on Wednesday, May 25 and the women begin their competition on Thursday, May 26, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The 2022 NCAA 2022 Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set for June 8-11 in Eugene, Oregon.
