Pocatello, ID - New year, same goals.
The Idaho State Men's and Women's Track and Field teams are set to begin the indoor season, and 2024, with the Snake River Open from January 11-13. The meet will take place within the friendly confines of the newly christened ICCU Dome (formerly Holt Arena), which has been fully repurposed over the holiday break to serve as the Bengals' home venue for the indoor slate.
With a 200m banked running track, a throwers pitch, and pits for pole vault as well as high and horizontal jumps, The field is more than ready for the first of what will be three home meets for the Bengals during the indoor season.
The Bengals will be competing against in-state institution Northwest Nazarene out of Nampa, as well as Montana Tech out of Butte, MT, and Weber State and Utah State both traveling up from Ogden, UT and Logan, UT, respectively.
Both Utah schools are opponents that the Bengals will see in the foreseeable future, with Weber State being a member of the Big Sky Conference and hosting two meets of their own this year, they will see the Bengals at least four more times following the conclusion of this weekend's Open.Â
Utah State is also scheduled to meet Idaho State again in 2024, with the Bengals traveling to Logan for the USU Invitational in April. Montana Tech's squads are making their third trip to Pocatello in school history, meeting the Bengals twice at home during the 2021-22 season.
The final day of the meet on Saturday, Jan 13, will feature local high school competition.

What Time -Â First events commence at 1pm and Noon on the first and second days of the meet, respectively. High School competition will begin at 9am on day three.
