POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State Bengals wrapped up the 2024 Big Sky Softball Outdoor Championships in Bozeman, Mont. This afternoon.
The Bengals day was highlighted by Brielle Davis' record-breaking championship performance in the women's pole vault.
The day was filled by outstanding Bengal performances in almost every event available and the Bengals earned multiple all-conference awards and point scorers.
Director of Track and Field Hillary Merkley shared thoughts post meet .
"[Our] Men did an awesome job. They came in ranked 7th and managed to pull off 5th despite some sickness and being a little banged up.  Â
The Ladies came up a little behind where we expected but the points were close for those last few spots. Every point matters and I think the ladies held things together as best as they could under the circumstances.Â
It was probably one of the most impressive conference championships I have seen from an overall conference standpoint with outstanding performances in a number of events from the conference as a whole. The Big Sky Conference just keeps getting more and more competitive. Our team did some good things and went in to compete and I was really proud of how our team carried themselves in success and disappointment at times. It's a really great group of people. We lose a large group of great seniors who have been here for a long time. They will be missed next year. I'm excited to see what comes for them in their future! I am proud to be a Bengal!"
