Biography

Idaho State (2024-25): Redshirt season

Howard College (2023-24): Madimba appeared and started in all 24 games for the Hawks… averaging 23 points on 52.1% shooting from the floor and 39.4% from three-point range... with six rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and .6 blocks per game… was named to the All-Conference First Team… named to the NJCAA Region 5 First Team.

Tarleton State (2020-21): Saw action in 12 games… averaged 3.1 points per game… started Tarleton’s season-opener and first-ever Division I contest versus Dallas Christian (11/25/20)… played a season-high 14 minutes and scored three points in the 103-48 victory… set career-highs with seven points and five rebounds in a 97-26 win over Southwestern Adventist (02/06/21)… blocked a career-best two shots against Weber State (01/17/21)… stole the ball twice on three occasions. 

Mansfield Timberview High School: Madimba finished his senior year at Mansfield Timberview and was ranked as a three-star guard on 247Sports. He was also ranked the 31st player in Texas and 26th on Rivals. He scored a game-high 26 points in a regional final win, including the final five points to advance to state. Madimba averaged 18 points, seven rebounds and 2.7 assists his senior season, leading Timberview in both points and rebounds. Along with those stats he was named the District 5-5A MVP, 5A Region 1 Regional Tournament MVP and voted TABC all-region and TABC All-State. He was also named to the First Team All-Area by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and holds the Timberview single-game scoring record with 40 points while also recording a double-double in the process with 11 rebounds.

Personal: Joey is a transfer at Idaho State originally from Mansfield, Texas. His favorite professional player is Anthony Edwards and his favorite TV show is Spongebob. He loves to eat wings and his secret talent is that he can speak French. Before games, Joey listens to Rod Wave and if he could pick anyone to play him in a movie, he'd go with Will Smith.
