The Big Sky Conference had 33 athletes named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. Idaho State, Northern Arizona and Weber State led all institutions with each school having seven named. Montana State had six individuals, Eastern Washington had five and Sacramento State had one athlete earn all-academic honors.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
This is the second time that Berryman, Hutchison, Maulin and Worthington have been named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team as all four were named to the team in 2011. It is the first all-academic honor for Clark, Arnold and Lange.
Tulsa's Chris O'Hare, Duke's Curtis Beach, Stanford's Amaechi Morton and Virginia Tech's Alexander Ziegler were named Scholar Athletes of the Year in Division I.
