Mike Arnold competes in his final event as a Bengal tomorrow at the NCAA National Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. Arnold is the 10th seed for the men's pole vault with a seed height of 5.40m.
At the west preliminary round, Arnold finished fifth, reaching his height of 5.40m on his first attempt.
Arnold has won six Big Sky Track and Field Championships in the men's pole vault, most recently during the 2013 outdoor season. At the meet, hosted by Portland State, Arnold jumped a height of 17-09.00. That height, a career best, ranks second all-time for Idaho State and is a stadium record.
While competing unattached last summer, Arnold cleared a height of 18-01.75 at the Idaho State Summer Pole Vault Series. His height qualified for Arnold for the 2012 United States Olympic Track and Field Qualifiers.
