Track and Field Competes in Boise

11 Bengals qualified for the Big Sky Championships last weekend

BENGAL OVERVIEW
Idaho State track and field competes at the Idaho-Utah Border Clash on May 3 in Boise, Idaho. Last weekend, the Bengals competed at the BYU Robison Invitational where 11 Bengals earned a spot at the Big Sky Championships.  

SORENSEN    
Junior Jesse Sorensen has been named Big Sky Athlete of the Week by the conference offices. He is also this week's Bengal Athlete of the Week.

Sorensen set two career-bests at the last weekend's BYU Robison Invitational. He won the 200m dash with a time of 20.72 which leads the conference and ranks third in program history. In the 400m dash preliminaries, he posted the second-best time with his time of 46.99 which leads the conference and ranks seventh in program history.

GOSACK
Senior Clint Gosack finished in a tie for first in the men's pole vault at the BYU Robison Invitational over the weekend with a height of 5.10m. Gosack currently ranks second in the conference. During the indoor season, Gosack finished third with a height of 5.10m.

HENDERSON
Junior Logan Henderson finished second in the decathlon with a career-best score of 6928 points. He highlighted his run with wins in the pole vault and 1500m run. He currently ranks second in the conference for both the decathlon and 400m hurdles.

4X100m    
Sorensen is joined by Kimball Hardman, Corbin Latimore and Taigan Neibaur for the 4X100m relay. They currently lead the conference with their Utah Spring Classic time of 41.06.

NICHOLLS
Sophomore Katie Nicholls finished second overall in the women's 800m at the Utah Spring Classic with a time of 2:11.83. Nicholls currently ranks second in the conference with that time.

SORENSEN
Junior Kaitlin Sorensen ranks second in the conference for her career-best triple jump distance of 12.00m from the Mark Faldmo Invitational.

WOMEN'S POLE VAULT
Senior Rebecca Clark and sophomore Samantha Simmons are tied for third in the conference with a height of 3.82 in the women's pole vault.
