POCATELLO, Idaho – Trevor Jensen broke a 46 year-old record in the discus on Friday afternoon at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Missoula, Mont. Jensen's record-breaking throw of 55.67m (182' 7") earned him second-place and all-conference honors. He also qualified for the NCAA West Region meet.Â
The previous record was set in 1973 by Craig Byington.
"For the discus, I told myself, 'Hey this is a separate thing and just do what you do, do whatever you can,'" said Jensen. "It ended up working out for me. I'm going to work on some technical issues and do the best I can going forward."
