Bengals Wrap Up Two Day Meet at Oregon State

CORVALLIS, OREGON- The Idaho State Track and Field team competed against strong competition at the OSU High Performance meet in Corvallis, Oregon this weekend.
 
Day One
 
The first day of competition was the longest for the Bengals with the first event, women's hammer, starting at 10 a.m. and the final event, the women's 10,000m, concluding at 10:31 p.m.
 
Cal Duke finished in first place in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 52.67, this was a personal best for Duke and the new facility record for Oregon State. Kyndal Martin finished in fifth in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.28, also earned a new personal best.
 
In the 3000m Steeplechase, Madi Kenyon won the collegiate division with a time of 10:44.11, this time also earned her a new personal best. This time is fourth best in school history.
 
Collin Dylla finished third in the invitational division of the 1500m, running a time of 3:47.70. This is a personal best for Dylla and is the eighth best time in school history.
 
In the 10,000m, Laura-Louise Alicke and Katie Weedn finished strong in fourth and fifth place, running 35:42.33 and 35:58.15, respectively. This was Alicke's first 10,000m at Idaho State and now has the fifth fastest time in school history. Weedn earned a new personal best, taking over a minute off her previous best and now has the ninth fastest time in school history. Joe Simmons finished the 10,000m in 29:44.23 minutes placing eighth.
 
Leo Finsterbusch placed fourth in the hammer with a throw of 57.53m (188' 9"). Finsterbusch also placed seventh in the discus throwing 50.19m (164' 8").
 
Zack Ramos earned himself a new personal best in the discus with a throw of 51.22m (168'), he placed fourth overall with this mark.
 
In the 200m dash, Kodee Vining finished fourth with a time of 22.08. Elizabeth Butler finished in fifth place with a time of 24.89, this time was a personal best for Butler.
 
Louise Lallement placed fifth in the pole vault with a jump of 3.68m (12' ¾").
 
Ashley VanVleet-Sturgis finished sixth in the long jump with a jump of 5.56m (18' 3").
 
In the collegiate division of the 5000m Zak Montoya finished in sixth place, running a time of 14:35.74. This performance was a new personal best for Montoya and puts him tenth in the Idaho State record books.
 
Kylie Greenwell finished in seventh place in the hammer with a throw of 51.75m (169' 9").
 
Day Two
 
Kapri Orton started off the day placing second in the high jump. She jumped 1.62m (5' 4 ½"). On the men's side, Owen Mitchell came in first with a jump of 2.04m (6' 8 ¼"). Adam Elorrieta followed in second, jumping 1.99m (6' 6 ¼").
 
In the 100m hurdles, Martin finished fourth running a time of 15.01.
 
Butler finished in third place in the 400m, she ran a time of 55.05.
 
In the 800m, Collin Dylla placed fourth running a new personal best of 1:50.93. Presley Timmons also ran a new personal best this weekend, running a time of 2:12.82.
 
Brianna VanVleet came in seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 11.24m (36' 10" 1/2").
 
In the shot put, Ramos placed fourth with a throw of 15.65m (54' 4 ½"). Finsterbusch came in seventh with a throw of 14.71m (48' 3 ¼").
 
The men's 4x400m finished first with a time of 3:21.65. The Bengals team consisted of Duke, Dylla, Elorrieta, and Vining.
 
The women's 4x400m also ran a strong race and came in first setting a new facility record at Oregon State. Martin, VanVleet-Sturgis, VanVleet, and Butler ran a time of 3:49.43 and set a new personal record for the group.
 
Looking Forward
 
The Bengals get one day off before headed down to Ogden, Utah for the Weber State Twilight Meet Monday, May 3 and Tuesday, May 4.
