Bengals Finish Weekend at BYU Robison Invitational

POCATELLO, Idaho – The Bengals competed this weekend at the BYU Robison Invitational in the final away meet of the season before the 2023 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The Meet began Wednesday and Thursday with the multi events.

Facing a field from BYU, Weber State, and Utah Valley Kylee Dimick put together an ISU top-10 performance.

Day one, Dimick took the lead in the event highlighted by her performance in the high jump. Coming into the section at 5'3", Dimick cleared five jumps before jumping 1.78m (5-10) to win the event. Her mark ties her for fourth highest in Idaho State history.

Day two, Dimick scored personal bests in the Javelin throw (125-4.25) and in the 800m (2:24.71) to finish out the Heptathlon atop the podium.

Dimick's final score of 5135 points is the eighth-best in Idaho State history. It leads the Big Sky Conference performance list by near 400 points

On the men's side, Adam Jones brought home a sixth-place finish in the decathlon. Jones put together an impressive performance, scoring 6149 total points and setting new PRs in seven of the 10 events

The weekend's events started with the women's hammer throw. On her second throw of the day, Destinee Rose-Haas launched her hammer 58.96m (193-5.25). The throw was good enough for the win and eclipsed the 2nd place thrower by three and a half meters. Rose-Haas came back to finish 2nd in the discus throw with a mark of 50.72m (166-4.75).

Katelyn Dickemore followed in sixth with a persona best throw of 45.36m (158-9.75) just off of the ISU top-10 list.

The men's hammer throw followed. Sergio Jimenez picked up the first outdoor podium finish of his career. On his final throw of the day, Jimenez threw his hammer 52.48m (172-2.25) to finish third in the event.

Zack Ramos continued to move up in the ISU record book in the men's shotput. On his final throw of the day, Ramos threw his shot 18.25m (59-10.5) to win the event. The throw is the third-best in Idaho State history.

Axel Tirado-Sanchez picked up a fifth-place finish in the men's discus with a throw of 53.98m (177-1.25).

Kyndal Martin picked up a top-10 finish in the 400mH, crossing the line in 1:02.61 to finish eighth.

The Women's 4x100 team of Elizabeth Butler, Mikaela Hill, Tenleigh Smith and Kyndal Martin finished fourth in the event with a time of 47.35 seconds

Bengal freshman Natalia Alavarez-Trujillo continued to grow in the women's triple jump. On her fifth jump of the day, Alvarez-Trujillo cleared 11.56m (37-11) setting a new personal best and earning a second-place finish.

Kapri Sylvester earned a podium-finish in the women's high jump. Sylvester cleared 1.70m (5-7) for second place at the meet.

On the men's side, Michael Shulikov finished third in the high jump with a jump of 2.06m (6-9). Owen Mitchell followed in seventh and Ethan Garrett in ninth.

The Bengals took three top-10 finishes in the women's pole vault. Brielle Davis came in 5th with Elliotte Stockham following in sixth and Lindsey Jones-Sagendorf in seventh.

Ekhardt Van Der Watt brought home a podium finish on the men's side in the pole vault. The Bengal cleared 5.13m (16-10) to finish third in the event.
