LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The Bengals women's tennis team played in three matches over the weekend, taking on Utah Tech on Friday, the University of Missouri-Kansas City on Saturday, and capped off on Sunday with a match at UNLV.
Beginning in ISU's opening match of the weekend, a neutral site match vs. Utah Tech. In doubles play ISU would get off on the right foot, winning the #1 & #2 doubles matches to give themselves the doubles point.

Morris/Day (ISU) def. Coulome/Tsintsadze (UT) 6-4
Kells/Zurita (UT) def. Grymalska/Mikkelson (ISU) 7-6
Idaho State continued their strong start in singles play, winning 4 of the 6 single matches, all 4 in straight sets.

Asem Shoybek (ISU) def. Olivia Bustos (UT) 7-5, 6-3

The Bengals would take the win in their first match in Vegas, but need to keep the momentum alive with two more matches in the next two days.
On Saturday morning Idaho State was back at it, taking on UMKC. In doubles the Bengals would secure the wins in the #1 & #3 doubles matches, taking a 1-0 lead into singles play.

Gati/Chrobak (UMKC) def. Morris/Day (ISU) 7-5
Grymalska/Mikkelson (ISU) def. Bylina/Jacobson (UMKC) 6-2
In singles play the Bengals and Roos would split the matches, winning three apiece, however, due to Idaho State winning the doubles point, the Bengals would win the match, 4-3.

Idaho State would cap their weekend in Vegas off by taking on the host school, UNLV, on Sunday morning. In doubles play Idaho State would come close but the Runnin' Rebels would run away with it and sweep the Bengals.

Zhao/Hu (UNLV) def. Morris/Day (ISU) 6-0
Oyama/Sokolvak (UNLV) def. Grymalska/Mikkelson (ISU) 6-4
Idaho State would look to come back in singles play, however, not much would come of it as
Victoria Grymalska would be the only Bengal to manage a win in their match.

In the end the Bengals would fall to UNLV by a final score of 1-6. Idaho State will finish this weekend in Vegas 2-1 and move to 5-4 overall.

Gretchen Maloney, shared her thoughts on the team's play this past weekend, "What a great weekend in Vegas! It was really fun to get outdoors, and the girls adapted to the conditions nicely. The team really worked on areas that we need to improve. Overall I felt like it was a really positive weekend."
