Flagstaff, AZ – Day 2 of the Big Sky Indoor Championships brought another wave of standout performances, personal bests, and All-Conference honors. With a podium finish and key qualifications for finals, the Bengals competed well.
Stoelken Secures All-Conference, Jones Battles to 4th in Heptathlon
The men's heptathlon wrapped up in thrilling fashion, with
Tom Stoelken locking in a 3
rd-place finish with a career best 4,760 points, earning All-Conference honors.
Adam Jones was right behind, finishing 4
th with a personal best 4,682 points, thanks in part to a strong showing in the 1,000m where he clocked 3:05.01 to take 2
nd place in the event.
Ward and Davis Crack the Top 6 in Field Events
- Kait Ward launched 17.33m (56'10.25") in the women's weight throw, securing 6th place amongst tough competitors.
- In the women's pole vault, Brielle Davis cleared 3.85m (12'07.50") to finish 6th in the event
Hurdlers Advance to Finals
Both the men's and women's 60m hurdles saw strong performances in prelims:
- Alex Conner flew to a personal best (PR) of 8.06 seconds, finishing 5th and advancing to the finals.
- Anise Becker clocked 8.72 seconds, placing 6th and also earning a spot in the finals.
Rampete Posts Season Best in the 200m
In the men's 200m prelims,
Khutsisa Rampete ran a season-best 21.53 seconds, finishing 9
th—unfortunately just outside the cut for finals, but still a strong showing in a highly competitive event.
