SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sasha Kent ran the third fastest 3,000m steeplechase in Idaho State history and earned all-conference status at the 2017 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 12.

Kent finished the race in second place with a time of 10:23.76. Her time ranks third in ISU history behind Erica Wendt-Richardson and Emily Mulick.

Women's 10K
Jenica Dodge became the only Idaho State athlete to earn all conference finishes in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field this season after placing third in the 10,000m race. The junior finished the race with 35:45.79 showing on the clock.

Dodge finished second in the 5,000m race at the indoor conference championships and seventh in the cross country conference championships this season.
Men's Long JumpÂ
Deante Gaines earned all-conference status in the long jump for the second-consecutive season. The defending Big Sky Men's Most Valuable Athlete jumped 7.42m (24-04 1/4).
Kyle LeBlanc finished eighth in the long jump with a 7.12m (23-4 1/2) leap. Â
Notable PerformancesÂ
On his second throw of the day,
Christian Brininger heaved his hammer 54.03m (177-03). Brininger advanced to the final and finished seventh overall.

Joe Simmons had the highest finish for the men on the track. The freshman finished eighth in the 10,000m race with a personal record time of 30:51.90.
Elizabeth Reichlinger had her own eighth-place finish inside the oval. She cleared the bar at 3.63m (11-10 3/4) in the pole vault.

Bailey Woodbury returned to action just a day after the heptathlon and claimed ninth in the long jump with a 5.64m (18-6) bound. In the high jump,
Tracey Gordon exited competition at 1.60m (5-03) to tie for ninth. Â

Tomorrow
The women's hammer throw opens competition on the final day of the conference championships at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning. Action on the oval begins with the women's 1,600m relay at 12:15 p.m.
