POCATELLO, Idaho - Axel Tirado Sanchez and
Owen Mitchell wrapped up day two of the 2023 West Region Championships. The two Bengal Big Sky Champions represented Idaho State strongly in the Discus and High Jump.
Axel Tirado-Sanchez started the day in the discus throw. The Bengals lone mark of the event came on his first throw as he launched his disc 54.83m (179-10). Tirado-Sanchez finishes the 2023 season ranked 26th in the west.
In the high jump,
Owen Mitchell cleared his second height of 2.04m (6-8.25) to finish 31st in the West Region.
The Bengals wrap up competition tomorrow with the final women's events of the meet.
