Logan, UT - Idaho State Track and Field traveled down to Logan, UT, for the Aggie Invitational, hosted by a familiar foe across multiple sports in Utah State.
Among competition from the host school, BYU, Central Wyoming, and Salt Lake CC, multiple Bengals showed out on Friday and Saturday, leaving much to look forward to with two meets remaining before the Big Sky Conference Championships.
Leading the charge, as she has done for the squad nearly every week this year, was senior sprinter Kyndal Martin. She blazed along the track to set a new school record in the 100m hurdles with an official time of 13.57 seconds, her second such school record in the event and eighth this calendar year.
Martin was joined by multiple other Bengals with strong finishes on the weekend. On the track, Mikaela Hill raced to a second-place finish in the 100m with a time of 11.96 seconds.
On the men's side, Khutsisa Rampete led the pack in the 200m, clocking 21.38 seconds. He also finished second in the 100m, with a season-best time of 10.70 seconds. Freshman Alex Conner ran to a silver in the 110m hurdles, clocked at 15.03 seconds, and Augustas Haynes took home the best time of the day in the 400m hurdles with 54.59 seconds.
Over on the field, Axel Tirado-Sanchez dominated the discus, finishing first with a mark of 52.71m (172'11"). Katelyn Dickemore, who now holds two top-10 marks in her career, finished second in the disc with a distance of 45.36m (148'10"). Sarah Wilensky had a rocket of a toss in the hammer throw, PRing at 57.92m (190'00").
The top spots in the high jump were all Bengals. Anthony Garcia finished first at 1.96m (6'5"), reaching the mark on his second attempt. His height was matched by senior Ethan Garrett, who did so on his third jump. Kapri Sylvester also claimed first place, reaching 1.68m (5'6").
Brielle Davis, Elliotte Stockham, and Lindsey Jones-Sagendorf finished first, second, and third in the pole vault. Davis recorded a height of 3.97m (13'00.25") and Stockham and Jones-Sagendorf both eclipsed 3.82m (12'06.25"), doing so on their first and second attempts, respectively.
Next up, the Bengals will send a group to Provo, UT, to compete in the BYU Multis from April 24-25, before returning home for the Bengal Invitational at Davis Field from April 26-27.
