Long Beach Invitational – Day 1
The Bengals came out strong on the opening day of the Long Beach Invitational, highlighted by a first-place finish and numerous personal bests across a variety of events.
In the
women's 5000m,
Cassandra Vasquez took home the win with a time of 16:58.78, crushing her previous personal best and moving into 4th all-time in school history.
In the
3000m steeplechase,
Sulette Ferreyra Serna secured a 4th place finish with a time of 11:16.93, while on the men's side,
Brandon Walker clocked a PR of 9:08.27 to take 2nd place.
The sprints also saw some strong performances.
Morgan Graham hit a new PR in the
100m, finishing in 12.45 seconds, and
Jacob Webster turned in a big day—posting PRs in both the
100m (10.75, 6th place) and
200m (21.40, 5th place).
In the field events, Izzie Stockam placed 5th in the
pole vault with a height of 3.50m (11' 5.75"), and
Tom Stoelken hit a PR in the
long jump with a mark of 6.39m (20' 11.75"), also finishing 5th. In the
javelin,
Katelyn Dickemore threw 46.32m (151' 11") to secure 4th place.
Bryan Clay Invitational – Day 3 (Final Day)
The Bengals wrapped up the final day of competition at Bryan Clay with a string of personal records in the
1500m, showcasing the team's depth and endurance in middle-distance events.
Sunny Gunn posted one of the day's top performances, running a PR of 3:48.19, which places him 9th all-time in ISU history.
Seth Babbel, fresh off his school record in the 10,000m earlier in the meet, also ran a new PR of 3:50.36—just 2.11 seconds shy of entering the program's top 10 in yet another event.
On the women's side,
Kamber Smith ran a PR of 4:37.07, while
Natalya Babcock (4:42.65) and
Olivia Kendell (4:44.94) also set new personal bests. Kendell's performance capped off an impressive meet where she PR'd in both the 5000m and 1500m.

The Bengals return for the final day of the Long Beach Invitational on Saturday, looking to close out the weekend on a high note. With multiple PRs already in the books and strong momentum building, ISU athletes will aim to finish the California swing with more standout performances.
