Idaho State (2023): Appeared and started in all 11 games for the Bengals...Led the FCS in total receptions and ranked fourth nationally in receiving yards...Finished the season with 1,045 receiving yards and eight touchdowns...Earned First Team All-Big Sky honors and was named a Walter Payton Award finalist...Recorded a career-long 65-yard reception against Eastern Washington on 10/14/23...Crossed the 1,000-yard mark against Idaho on 11/18/23.

Idaho State (2022): Appeared in 10 of 11 games during the 2022 season...Recorded 28 receptions for 247 yards and one touchdown...Averaged 8.8 yards per catch...Posted a season-long reception of 36 yards.

Personal: James, who goes by Che, is majoring in Marketing at Idaho State and attended St. John Bosco High School in California, where he helped lead the program to a national championship in 2019. He totaled 1,074 receiving yards on 64 career receptions with 14 touchdowns at the prep level and averaged 16.8 yards per catch, including 753 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior. James chose to return to Idaho State for the people, culture, and opportunity to continue building with the program. Outside of football, he enjoys playing video games and listens to Rod Wave before games. He can be found on Instagram (@chedonjames) and cites family as a major influence in his journey.
