Karby is majoring in Sports Management and Coaching at Idaho State and attended Mission Viejo High School, where he was coached by Chad Johnson. He earned Dean's List and Scholar-Athlete recognition and arrives in Pocatello following a standout junior college career at Saddleback College. Karby was named a 2025 JUCO All-American, earned 2025 All-State honors, was a 2025 Unanimous First Team All-Conference selection, and was recognized as the 2024 Offensive Lineman of the Year. He said he chose Idaho State for the coaching staff, the culture, and the program's desire to win. Outside of football, he enjoys hanging out with teammates, going to the beach, and snowboarding, and listens to Hunxho before games. Karby cites Jason Kelce, Creed Humphrey, and Trent Williams as favorite NFL players, is a San Francisco 49ers fan, and can be found on Instagram (@ryankarby).
