Personal: Patterson, who goes by Jax, is majoring in University Studies at Idaho State and attended Hillsboro High School in Missouri, where he was a four-year starter and amassed more than 5,100 career rushing yards. He earned all-state honors as a senior after averaging 8.3 yards per carry and scoring 16 touchdowns while helping Hillsboro to a 10–2 record, and collected all-district and all-conference recognition in all four seasons. Patterson also lettered in baseball and earned academic all-state honors. He said he chose Idaho State because of the coaching staff's knowledge, competitive mindset, and the program's culture. Outside of football, he enjoys gaming, golfing, fishing, and hunting, listens to Adele and Kodak Black before games, lists Troy Polamalu as his favorite NFL player, and can be found on Instagram (@j.6ixx_). He added that faith plays an important role in his life.
