Events begin Wednesday with the decathlon 100-meter dash at 1:00 p.m. After the Bengals wrap up the Dec-Hep Fest they are off to the Utah Spring Classic hosted by the University of Utah Friday, April 10 and the Wildcat Outdoor Open hosted by Weber State Saturday, April 11.
BENGAL MEN TO WATCHSenior
Logan Henderson is currently ranked first in the Big Sky conference for his first place finish in the decathlon with a score of 7,116 points at the California State Northridge Multi-Events Invitational.
Henderson's win was highlighted by his first place finishes in the 110 meter hurdles (15.66), pole vault (4.55 meters) and 1,500 meter run (4:30.43).
Billy Phillips is ranked second in the conference for his second place finish at the Northridge Invitational with a decathlon score of 7,030 points.
Kyle Searle trailed in third with 6,277 points and is ranked fourth in the conference.
Jacob Campbell ran the seventh fastest school time and set a career best in the 10,000 meter (30:25.52) at the San Fransisco State Distance Carnival.
BENGAL WOMEN TO WATCHAndrea Vicic led the Bengal women on the final day of the Northridge Invitational with a fourth place finish and score of 4,478 points in the heptathlon.
Vicic's finish was highlighted by her first place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.09, third place finish in the shot put (10.67 meters) and second place finish in the javelin with a personal best mark of 31.33 meters.
Trailing Vicic in fifth was
Bailey Woodbury with 4,329 points and
Shayla Neibaur followed in sixth with 4,298 points.
Senior
Kylie Hutchison led the Bengals at the San Fransisco State Distance Carnival Friday, April 3 with a career best time of 16:53.55 in the 5,000 meter run which ranks second all-time in school history.
Presli Hutchison ran the third fastest time in school history in the same event running a career best time of 17:05.23.
Katie Nicholls competed in the 1,500 meter and ran a career best time of 4:27.88 which is fourth all-time for ISU.
Audrey Urlacher ran the fourth best time in school history in the 10,000 meter run with a career best time of 35:47.38.
PRESEASON COACHES' POLLThe Idaho State men's track and field team was picked to finish fifth with 87 points and the women ninth with 41 points in the Big Sky Outdoor Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The 2015 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships will take place May 13-16 at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Wash.
