POCATELLO, Idaho. – Idaho State women's golf put together a strong start to the Big O Classic on Monday, closing the opening 36 holes in second place at Oak Hills Country Club. The Bengals posted rounds of 314 and 304 for a team total of 618 (+42), trailing only tournament host Omaha (+11) heading into Tuesday's final round.
Andrea Chin led the Bengals with a two-round score of 150 (+6), highlighted by a steady second-round 74 to finish the day in fifth place individually. Izzy Hassebrock followed closely at 154 (+10, T-8) after matching Chin's 74 in the afternoon session. Kaylie Parola sits tied for 15th at 157 (+13), while Venus Yong (159, +15), Avery Bayer (161, +17), and Lauren Aasand (163, +19) rounded out the Bengal lineup.
The Bengals' second-round 304 marked one of their most balanced team efforts of the fall, improving by 10 strokes from the morning round to separate themselves from the rest of the field.
Tournament Format
The Big O Classic is being played Oct. 13–14 at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, Nebraska. The par-72 course measures 6,107 yards. Teams played 36 holes Monday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. and will conclude the tournament Tuesday with a final 18 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m. off the first and 10th tees.
