High School: Lettered four years in football and one year in baseball at Holland High School … as a senior threw for 1,738 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 126-for-199 passes, good for a 63 percent completion rate … as a junior led his team to a 10-5 record while throwing for 2,029 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions … was 152-for-211 yards, good for a 72 percent completion rate … had 425 yards rushing and four touchdowns as a senior and team lost in the state finals … earned all-conference honors as a senior and all-district as a junior … coached by Tag Gross.
